I am honored to report that I recently conducted my first shamanic journey for a beautiful human who was on the verge of transition.

She had given me permission to conduct shamanic reiki on behalf of her energetic field. The day before she passed, I felt called to conduct another session. What ensued during that journey has been confirmed by research of shamanic experiences across various traditions.

Every journey is unique. It’s always fascinating to me what arises, what symbols appear, and the ways healing shows up. “Healing,” by the way, doesn’t always mean extending life in our meat-suits. Life is cyclical, the journey continues, well after we are free of the constraints of the human body. It’s beautiful to witness.

With this particular individual, on that final journey, I was met by her child-self: an essence of purity. It felt like a piece of her soul was ready to be reunited. So I followed intuitive nudges and witnessed the convergence of her child-self and her current self. In my mind’s view, this child laid on top of her and merged with her: this is one way that soul retrieval can look like from a shamanic journey point of view.

The final vision I received was of her in this picturesque environment, overlooking the water. I could hear her voice in my mind’s ear resounding how beautiful it was. In the next moment, she was in the water, riding on the back of a dolphin. This image was a first, for me, as a shamanic journeyer. She transitioned the following day. When I researched the symbols that showed themselves to me on this journey, all of it was confirming the experience that her soul was ready to transition back to the spirit realm, and that she would do so, seamlessly.

I saw many souls surrounding her, which was confirming to me that she had helping spirits come to assist in her journey to the spirit realm.

I sent her notes of my journey. Personally, I’m curious if she ever even received that message before her transition. But this is what I said to her:

… I have to tell you how loved and guided and supported you are. You have a lot of souls with you. One thing that transpired was your child-self showed up and it felt like something was healed there. She rejoined you. So I hope you’re able to bask in childlike essence! (Your son) showed up, too. It was a blue gemstone that was given to him and I heard the message that he has something he wants to tell you. By the end of the journey, you were riding on the back of a dolphin in a very picturesque place. You announced how beautiful it was and next I knew, you were in the ocean, laughing on the back of a dolphin. I’m sending you so much love and peace. You’re guided, supported, and deeply loved…
